Voicethread http://voicethread.com
Discussion boards available in moodle or blackboard

Bloggers Notes:

Turning In Work
  • Use a file naming protocol: mHall_CFFKeynote.key is an example of what she uses.
  • To get work from and back to students she suggested Moodle or Blackboard

Blogs: edublog, voicethread are ways to give individuals feedback, the issue is that it is not private.

Turnitin: interface through Moodle

For Assessment/Feedback consider the following tools:
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Mark-up view in Word
  • Moodle/Blackboard both have features that are good for assessment

For recording/reporting grades consider:
  • Electronic gradebook
  • Web posting of grades
  • Moodle/Blackboard
  • Online programs

Problems that can be encountered in a paperless classroom:
  • Returning work to students
  • Access by all students to computers out side of school
  • Students not having access to all the software available to them in school

Pluses of a paperless classroom
  • Work can be turned in at any time or place
  • Teacher can receive at any time or place via networked computer
  • Multiple readers can read simultaneously
  • Appearance is uniform
  • Ability to refer to linked information (papers are not linear, but are meshed like the Internet).
  • Supports multimedia projects
